Forearm Pass Control and Second-Contact Preparation

Goal of the Drill
Develop forearm-pass control, preparation for the second contact and the ability to keep the ball in play under control; build the skill of lifting the ball to the ideal height after the pass.
Explanation of the Drill
Two players stand on opposite sides of the net behind the 3-metre line, facing each other. One starts the drill by sending the ball over the net to the partner under control. The receiving player passes the incoming ball above head height, at a height suitable for a second contact. They then catch the ball under control with the hands and send it back over the net to the partner. The drill continues back and forth the same way.
The player must move into position behind the ball, bend the knees slightly and build a solid platform without breaking the elbows. The ball is lifted above head height — neither too low nor too high — and controlled at a distance suitable for a second contact. This drill focuses in particular on ball control after the pass and preparation for the second contact.
