Partner Forearm Passing Fundamentals

Goal of the Drill
Develop correct forearm-pass technique, ball control and passing accuracy; get the player to move into position behind the ball and deliver a controlled, balanced pass.
Explanation of the Drill
Two players face each other parallel to the net. One starts the drill by tossing the ball to the partner under control. The other moves into position behind the incoming ball and passes it back with the forearm-pass technique. The drill continues back and forth at the same rhythm.
During the pass the feet are shoulder-width apart, the knees slightly bent and the weight on the balls of the feet. The player moves toward the ball with short steps to get the body behind it and joins the arms without bending the elbows to build a solid platform. On contact, the power comes not only from the arms but is supported by a controlled rise of the knees, and the ball is directed accurately to the partner.
