Wall Target Serve and Forearm Pass Reception

    Goal of the Drill

Develop serving accuracy, forearm-pass control and serve-receive skill; practise both serving to a target and passing the rebound off the wall back to a designated spot under control.

    Explanation of the Drill

One player waits about 1-2 metres from the wall on one knee, ready in the passing position. The other stands behind the partner, at a distance from which they can serve at the wall. The server sends the ball to a pre-marked target spot on the wall under control. The ball rebounds off the wall to the player in front. The kneeling player uses correct forearm-pass technique to direct the ball back to the same target area on the wall. The drill continues rhythmically in this way.

The passing player stays balanced on the knees, leans the torso slightly forward and forms a solid platform without bending at the elbows. They adjust the shoulder angle to the incoming direction of the ball and direct it to the target under control. The server focuses on aiming at the same spot every repetition to develop serving accuracy.
