Controlled Overhead Passing Above the Head

Goal of the Drill
Develop overhead-pass control, hand coordination and the ability to prepare the ball for the second contact; get the player to direct the ball under control above the head and deliver an accurate pass.
Explanation of the Drill
Two players face each other parallel to the net. One starts the drill by sending the ball to the partner with an overhead pass. The other controls the incoming ball above the head with the overhead-pass technique. After holding it under control briefly, the second touch sends it back to the partner, again with an overhead pass. The drill continues back and forth at the same tempo.
During the control the player prepares the hands above forehead height, keeps the fingers naturally spread and contacts the ball only with the fingertips. The ball is never taken into the palms, body balance is maintained, and the second pass is executed in one smooth motion. The aim is to prepare the ball at the same height and control on every repetition and deliver it accurately to the partner.
