Walking Patrick Step – Hip Opener

    Goal of the Drill

Dynamically increase external rotation and flexion range of the hip joint; prepare the hips and legs before training with a walking hip-opening pattern.

    Explanation of the Drill

The player starts standing. One knee is lifted up and out so the hip rotates externally (forming a shape like a figure '4'), then the leg is planted forward as a step. The movement is repeated alternating right and left while walking forward. On every step the hip opens outward briefly and is carried forward under control.

Keep the torso upright, maintain balance and move in a smooth rhythm. The goal is to activate the hip joint through its full range before training.
