    Ankle Circles

    Goal of the Drill

Increase ankle range of motion; prepare the ankle and lower leg for jumping and change-of-direction movements.

    Explanation of the Drill

The player stands on one foot or sits and lifts one foot off the floor. Starting from the ankle, the foot traces wide, controlled circles clockwise. After the set time in one direction, repeat for the same time in the opposite direction. The movement comes only from the ankle; the leg stays still.

Hold on to something lightly for balance if needed. The aim is to prepare the ankle against possible sprains and to warm the joint through movement. Switch sides when the time is up.
