Spike – Pass – Controlled Attack Continuity Drill

Goal of the Drill
Develop controlled attacking, forearm-pass defense and ball control in a single drill; extend the rally as long as possible to improve the transitions between attack and defense.
Explanation of the Drill
Two players stand on opposite sides of the net behind the 3-metre line, facing each other. One tosses the ball up in front of themselves under control and starts the drill by sending it into the opposing court with a standing spike. The partner meets the incoming ball with correct forearm-pass technique and lifts it above the head, under control, at a height and distance suitable for a second contact. Then, before the ball lands, they send it back over with a controlled attacking contact. The drill continues back and forth in this way, and the aim is to keep the rally going as long as possible without letting the ball drop.
Attacking players apply controlled power and prioritise accuracy and rally continuity. The passing player moves into position behind the ball, forms a solid platform and controls the ball at a height suitable for the second contact. Every repetition should be smooth and rhythmic, simulating the in-match transition from defense to a controlled attack.
